Tswaout Winter Trip 2017 (Day 2)

It's sad that we're leaving tomorrow, but at least we were blessed to be able to experience these days. We had a fun day of crafts, Uno, dinner, and even a surprise birthday cake for Michelle.

I mean let's start from the beginning where we almost missed breakfast..

Today we're interviewing another Tsawout rookie.

What is your name?
Michael Lim :P

How many times have you been to Tsawout?
0? This is my first time.

What did you expect from Tsawout this trip?
To be honest, I didn't know what to expect. Most of the stories I heard had prepared me but I still wanted to experience Tsawout first hand. I mean, if I had to expect something, I guess I expected it to be something like the trips to Guatemala?

After two full days, what surprised you the most? What did you learn?
What surprised me the most was how easy going the community is compared to back home. How it's okay for me to go out with a couple of people at any time of the day and know that you'll be completely safe.
After meeting some of the people in this community, but don't judge people based on their appearance. When you meet people here, you might approach them differently because of the two different cultures we have between us. But I mean, soon afterwards you'll come to realise that that shouldn't have been the best way to approach others.

Do you plan on coming back in the future?
For sure yes; definitely.

Any last comments?

*Interviewers note: Most things the interviewee stated were run on sentences with the occasional "Um" and "Ya". Therefore, the interviewer had to condense/rewrite the interviewees points in a more condensed format :)

As per usual, here are some cool photos from today, enjoy!

Happy birthday, Michelle!

Took this picture about 20 minutes ago, decided to put this
into the blog just as a reminder of how great and beautiful
God's creation is. While the photo itself isn't that good
(Would've tried to get a better shot but it started to rain)
to think that God put each of those stars thousands, if not
millions of light years away and we can still admire them
from here is just mind boggling.
