Tsawout Winter Trip 2017 (Day 1)

Hey guys we're back on the island! It's only Day 1 and it's been a pretty eventful day; last minute car switches, crazy winds on the ferry, picking up kids in the rain, ghost, old friends, joy and laughter! But most importantly God.

Thanks to Josiah who offered to cook our meals for the next couple of days!

After lunch, we went out and went to go pick up some of the kids nearby...

Not going to lie, it was raining a lot and it was quite cold. Once we got back to church, we spent the rest of our day catching up and spending some time with one another (and keeping warm!)

I mean it wouldn't be much of a blog post without a good ol' interview ;)

What's your name?
Riane Ng :)

How long have you gone to Tsawout?
This is my first time.

What brought you to Tsawout? (Apart from the ferry...)
Everyone's been talking about Tsawout and their experiences and I wanted to try experiencing it myself. Also, peer pressure, but that is definitely not the main reason!

Were you nervous? What were you expecting?
I wasn't actually nervous at all because everyone says that they've spent a good time there - I guess I would say I wasn't scared at all, or nervous.
What I knew about Tsawout is that you get to know the kids on a First Nations Reserve, so I was more or less expecting new friendships and stuff.

What surprised you the most after today?
There wasn't much that surprised me. Most of what people shared from their experiences prepared me for what I would encounter.

What are you excited for in the coming days?
I'm excited just to see their culture and how God is working or will work in their lives.

Anyway, we'll tell you more in the coming days! In the meantime, please enjoy some other photos we took from today...

Anyway, just wanted to share some cool photos from today.
