Day 0 Haiku:
Some cars made it on,
Most of them did not make it.
We regret nothing.
Getting caught in between two ferry departures meant extra time to get to know our team (yay!). We also had the privilege of spotting a large pod of Orca whales (Nicole J's best day ever). While more than half our team was delayed on the mainland in the afternoon, the rest of the day was smooth sailing. We joined the Tsawout Assembly of Praise service and spent the evening getting to know the many new faces of their congregation!

Day 1:
Our first official day started with plenty of early risers and the sweet smell of bacon. After a quiet morning of devotions, our team eagerly awaited for the kids to arrive and a few of us said silent prayers, hoping that the rain would stop. The clouds broke just as the campers began arriving! Partnering with the Tsawout Learning House summer camp gave us the opportunity to work directly with the community and watch their youth leaders in action. It was so awesome to see youth that were once participants at VBS become strong leaders to campers of their own!
