Day 5 (Thursday)

Since a special request to make the last post of our trip "a funny one" was made this afternoon, the author of this post will do their very best to comply with the request.

So, friends, today was our last day of camp with the children of Tsawout... and what a special one it was. As mentioned before, the entire day was spent at the community centre while the dinner was held back the church. Being able to spend time with the children while in their own facility felt as though we were invited into their homes. Some tears were shed as we said "see you later" to our beloved kids.

A special thank you to:

  • Craft girls, thank you for your creativity and patience day after day. Nicole, Jessica, and Sabrina, you are all amazing.
  • The worship team, for their dedication and energy day after day. Jen, Natalie, Charlotte, Rachel, Justin, Sabrina, and Silas - may you all keep on rocking.
  • Bible Adventure guys, we know you stay up late to plan for the day after. We especially thank you for performing the altar call today and stepping out of your respective comfort zones. Alex, Gabe, Ben, and Jon - keep doing you.
  • Kitchen crew, thank you for the taste of Asia this past week. Kevin and Wes have truly knocked it out of the park this year.
  • Group Game guys, Pastor Dan and Patrick. Thanks for your booming voices and extremely weird things. "Hit the Dragon's Butt" should be an Olympic sport.
  • Our Fearless Leaders, thank you for your directorship this past week. Lewis, Anthony, Nicole, Verna, Josiah, Brian, Pastor Dan, Angel, and Patrick - we love you.
And yes, this post is not extremely funny. So here's a joke for you:

Q: What's white and can't climb trees?
A: A fridge.

Okay, that's pretty lame. Here's another one:

Q: What's brown and sticky?
A: A stick.

I'll be here all night.
